5 Ways to Update Your Look This Year
Ladies…now is the time to prioritize YOU! I know I know everyone always starts the new year saying that and it usually ends up only lasting a few months. But what if this year was different? What if you really committed to becoming the best version of yourself?! Below are 5 things that will help get you on the right track (:
Find a pair of denim that makes you feel like a new woman!
I know, i’m sure this makes you want to run for the hills and stop reading this but keep going! Denim is one of the hardest things for women to shop for, but also so rewarding! My advice is to set a time to go shopping and ONLY look for + try on denim. When you are there, try on everything! Even if you think the style isn’t you or you haven’t worn that before…just try it on! The worst that can happen is that you don’t buy it…but what if you love it?! Then you have found a new go-to pair of denim that you almost didn’t even try on. It’s great when you have a few styles and washes of jeans to work with in your wardrobe. You won’t run into the feeling that you have no jeans when you have a solid few options that you love to wear!

Go through your closet + get rid of what you do not wear
This will help….
- Eliminate stress while getting dressed in the morning
- Rediscover your style that may be getting lost under all the clothes
- Reclaim some confidence when putting on items you my have forgotten about
I know that this task can seem scary and overwhelming but it truly will benefit you in the long run. Do not feel like you need to do this in one day… it’s actually better to do it in chunks so you don’t get overwhelmed. This will also help you stay focused and not get lost in the overall idea of just getting it done! Trust me, this will change everything for you. To be able to walk into your closet and love everything you see will inspire your outfits and you to take on the day! :)
Get your eyebrows done
Now I know this isn’t technically clothing or fashion, but how you do your makeup plays a huge part in your overall style! Your eyebrows are the frames of your face. They help you communicate and express your emotions, make your eyes look bolder and bigger, and create that natural glow that every woman strives for! Taking the time to learn how to do your eyebrows can bring a new type of confidence you didn’t even know you were missing!
Show some skin!
This doesn’t mean show to much! It means roll up those sleeves and cuff those jeans, ladies! By doing something as simple as rolling your sleeve, you break up the the line that occurs when the bottom of your shirt and sleeves hit at the same length. This cut you in half and is not visually appealing to the eye. By rolling the sleeves you add length to your arms and give the impression of a put together look! This goes for cuffing your jeans, too! This elongates the leg and adds some dimension to your look. There is not a hard press rule on how to go about this. You have to do what feels right to you! That is the beauty of personal style ;)
Accessorize!
Adding accessories to your outfit can do wonders for your overall appearance! Adding something as simple as a gold necklace or bracelet creates the idea that you are very put together and stylish. Sometimes the saying, ‘look good feel good’ is truly accurate! Accessorizing is important because it is the easiest way to portray your personality. Personal style is an amazing thing where you get to express who you are, so make the most of it!
